Regular issue for iPhone 3Gs shorted mainboard it's beacause of PMic ruined because of some outsider adornments being utilized, for example, vehicle charger, crisis charger or any gadget that can ruined the PMic (Power Management IC).
Typically if the PM ic is shorted, it getting hot when you charge or fitting in to usb.
